FAQs

The first appointment is a initial assessment session, which can be thought of as a 'get to know you' conversation. During this session, you'll be asked a range of questions about your current concerns and your history, as well as your treatment goals. Following this, Avnee will discuss with you her suggested treatment approach. Ongoing sessions are tailored to each client's goals, with a focus on collaboration to ensure sessions are meeting your needs.

When seeing clients with chronic health conditions, she also liaises with  your healthcare team including GPs and multidisciplinary specialists to ensure there is ongoing communication and to provide holistic care. This is typically done after the initial assessment session, and as needed throughout the duration of your care.

Currently, Avnee only offers Telehealth sessions conducted via a secure video-conferencing platform.

Please note that enquiries via this website are for Telehealth appointment bookings directly with Avnee.  Aside from her solo private practice, she also currently consults as the Lead Clinical Psychologist at The POTS Psychology Clinic at HeadwayHealth. Please contact HeadwayHealth directly for any enquiries regarding appointment bookings and fees for face-to-face sessions at the Mater Hospital in North Sydney.

Fees are $290 for a 60-min initial assessment session, and $265 for ongoing 50-min sessions. If you are utilising a Mental Health Care Plan, you may be eligible for up to 10 Medicare rebated sessions per calendar year. The current Medicare rebate for a 50-60min individual session with a Clinical Psychologist is $145.25, resulting in an out-of-pocket gap payment of $144.75 for the initial assessment session and $119.75 for ongoing sessions.

Sessions can also be claimed using a GP Chronic Disease Management Plan or private health insurance. Please check with your private health insurance for individual rebates.

Avnee has trained and worked in multidisciplinary teams across various public hospitals including Chris O’Brien Lifehouse, the Pain Management Clinic at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, and The Kinghorn Cancer Centre at St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney.

She holds a Master of Clinical Psychology and Bachelor of Psychology with 1st Class Honours. She is a member of the Psycho-Oncology Co-operative Research Group and the Australian POTS Foundation, and is an AHPRA Board-Approved Supervisor.
